EN. Listening to the new record I got the impression you weretrying new things with your voice.

SC. Yeah, I'm a really good snger - I think its my strong point because there's not that many really good singers around. I took it very much for granted before... but a whole lot of people think I sing really well so I guess I sing really well

EN: The first time I listened to the record I heard other singers, other voices - Bruce Springsteen, Brian Ferry, Lloyd Cole.

SC: Yeah, those things are there but not intentionally... I think I have my own sound now but I'm trying to take some of my idiosynchracies out of the music, trying to make it more universal...
