The "Hyper dynamic musical experience" known as LUdO hail from
the South Coast of Australia, based in Wollongong, the band has been playing
numerous gigs including the support slots for Stella One Eleven, Waikiki, Thumlock,
The Chucky Monroes, The Archie Wah Wahs, Quadbox, Toe to Toe and Segression.
The band was born in 1997, but it wasnít until the beginning of 2001 when the
line-up was complete, consisting of "a drummer that combined massive windmill
pounding with regular stick twirls, a bass player jumping to verge of hysteria
and two guitarist that were just to smooth and cool". - Tertangala #3 Collaborating
and sometimes ping ponging ideas and material around has brought together what
LUDO is today a style of music that is hard to describe, with their influences
ranging from Magic Dirt, Soundgarden, Kyuss and Tea Party to Mick Hart, Avalanches,
Dandy Warhols, Tori Amos and everything in between. The band now based in Wollongong
have collaborated their material, and have just finished a 2 track demo at Zen
studios in Sydney along with an acoustic version of a previously released song
Return. The band hopes to record a demo every second month to keep the music
industry and themselves on their toes. At present a tour is being planned for
the band over Jan/Feb 2001 travelling through Sydney, Wollongong, Nowra, Tathra,
Melbourne, Geelong, Canberra and Newcastle. To find out more about LUdO visit
