Tamper
Tamper is soon to be regarded as one of the essential alternative
rock bands to launch onto the Australian market. It's unique fusing of rock,
trip-hop, dance beats, melody and harmony make it immediately familiar yet
impossible to categorize. Tamper is the creation of Sam Francis, finding its
origins in excuses from joining the real world, music as ultimate therapy,
and a means to turn heads towards something different. Formed in 1997 with
best mate Sean Steele, Sam wrote and demo'd volumes of material, refining
their sound and overall creating what they thought took the 'ordinary' in
popular music and made it something more. 2 Years of writing finally took
them to seek an audience when they played their first live shows in the "@
You Band Competition". Tamper (then known as " Missing Ends") made it to the
finals and so began their reputation for originality and diversity. Tamper
has recently finished recording their Debut EP (the Tamper EP) and are looking
towards launching it through a series of live shows in Sydney, Wollongong
and Canberra. Their entry of 'Corporate Bitch' into the esteemed national
song competition, " MusicOz" in 2002 saw them land a place as a semi finalist
out of some 4000 strong entries. This years' entry picks up with the Bitch
left off. . . In One Ear and Out the Other is straight, to the point pop:
catchy and immediate, the chorus will be burnt in you head and keep your finger
on that repeat button!
